- INFANT online delivery guidelines with advice on setting up and trouble-shooting for online sessions.
- INFANT participant certificate to provide to parents upon completion of the 4 INFANT sessions.

Updates to the My Baby Now app
- Expanded eligibility – MBN is intended for parents alongside the INFANT group sessions, but it can also be promoted to all parents with babies less than 12 months of age – new promotional video to show parents from Sheree, a parent from the INFANT program.
- New ‘solids’ topic on vegetarian and vegan diets – Read the new ‘tips to ensure a well-based vegetarian or vegan diet’ and sample meal plans, or watch the new video for parents on “planning a plant-based diet” on the MBN app. You can also refer parents to an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) for professional advice on vegetarian, vegan and other special dietary needs.
- Coming soon – young children’s dental health: In partnership with Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, INFANT will be undertaking a trial to examine the impact of INFANT and MBN on dental health outcomes of children to 4 years of age. A new dental health topic will be available on the MBN app from July 2022.

Previous StepNext Step
I am very pleased to see that there is more information for Vegetarian and Vegan families.
This has promted me to get INFANt onto our organisations Website – the new Communications Essentials Flyer has made this task very easy for me – Thankyou
I’m looking forward to seeing the INFANT Language Guide and I’m pleased to see the inclusion of Vegan/ vegetarian diets and young children’s dental health.
looing forward to delivering the information on vegan and vegertarian diets as this topic often comes up during discussions.
I’m looking forward to seeing the INFANT Language Guide
The inclusion of information on vegetarian and vegan diets will be helpful to refer families too along with dental information.
Nice additions. Many vegetarian and vegan families so this addition to the app is very welcome. Good to see feedback being used to continue to fine tune the program offerings to meet needs of families and facilitators. Would INFANT consider providing a powerpoint presentation to all facilitators to add to the consistency of messaging?
Exciting New things I do love the Vegetarian and Vegan information.
Looking forward to using the ‘vegans and vegetarian’ information’ as this is becoming more common as is iron deficiency in children.
I have only introduce the first session within the NPG.
Having a set number of facilitators to be to continue the program in our council is what we are working towards.
I love the Flyer and promotional video for the App!
We will also incorporate the information about vegetarian and vegan diets
I am loving that MBN goes to 12m, I also think it is great that vegan and vegetarian information has been added to the app, in our area our culturally diverse community are not often present at groups and this can benefit these communities greatly as a large portion of them do follow vegetarian diets. It is good to see more oral/dental health care will be linked to the App, as this is often over looked as mentioned by others.
The new promotional video will be great to add as a link for promotion via our council website. The promotional documents have been very helpful for me to share with our communication team as we set up the booking system online.
The introduction of information for vegetarian and vegan families will be very helpful!
The new flyer being inclusive of all age groups will be a great inclusion.
We have the flyer and promote INFANT to prevent additional consults at 6 months around solid intro. The updates on the MBN can be incorporated in the sessions and to clients. The info for vegans and vegetarians has been limited so this is a fabulous addition. It would be good having the promotional video in waiting rooms.
Love the new video and flier.
The new resources look very helpful for the program that has just started running here. I think it is great that vegan and vegetarian information has been added to the app, that will be very handy for those families. And it is also good to see more oral/dental health care will be linked to it.
We have not yet implemented INFANT and will be approaching another service to discuss, it will be easier with all these resources available from the beginning.
Infant has not been implemented as yet in our LGA, however I can see that the Infant Language Guide would be helpful to practitioners as these can be a sensitive topics to discuss with parents. Including information with regard to dental health will also be very helpful.
The inclusion of vegetarian and vegan diets is very helpful and the expansion of the app is great.
The inclusion of vegetarian and vegan options very welcome.
I will definitely be interested to the INFANT language guide! And yes, also glad that access to the app broadened to bubs up to 12 months.
I do regularly refer parents to the sections of the My Baby Now app re: gagging vs choking, and Baby-Led weaning. But I do also often send out information to parents after group sessions re: allergies with links to Nip Allergies in the Bub website and/or ASCIA regarding allergy prevention and how and when to introduce allergens, perhaps a bit more detail in this section of the app would be good also.
Love the promotional material and a lovely video to interest parents in a New parent Group to come along to the session. We have so many parents here who are vegan or vegetarian as a way of life and information to get their children off to a great start is so useful. Love the fact that dental health is also being recognised as a healthy part of living.
I think the addition of vegetarian and vegan options is great idea. As a dietitian I am seeing many more referrals for these families so it will be great for the INFANT program to reinforce these options.
The Vegan and Vegetarian information will be very useful. I’m thrilled that the app is available Australia wide. Some people, for various reasons, avoid groups so any way of getting this content out to the wider community will be beneficial.
I love the promotion flyer! Also really happy that vegetarian and vegan information is now available on the app to help encourage families to provide the best nutrition for their children and dietitans if needed. Also incorporating dental into the information is so important. Love the updates on the app.
INFANT language guide is a great idea
The update of Vegan and vegetarian options are good. To include parents with children up to 12 months if good . Families coming to all sessions appreciate the certificate is good. The guidelines are helpful to follow with parent sessions.
Great to see the online guidelines for sessions and that INFANT is now targeting families with children up to 1yr of age. The link to the video could possibly be sent to all families in the first month after their babies birth as another method of promoting INFANT
Great to have the vegan and vegetarian meal options, in addition to an up to date video of a mother who has been involved in the INFANT program.
Great to have access to additional promotion documents and the My Baby Now App. We have been encouraging families to download the App and have since received great feedback at later sessions from these families. The inclusion of information around Baby (child) led weaning in the App is useful.
Great to see that there will be an INFANT Language Guide. Sensitive and inclusive language essential in any health messaging. Also important to have accurate vegan/vegetarian diet information readily available.
ZOOM tips useful in current climate and maximise experience for all.
I agree with others it is great to have now included the vegan and vegetarian diets into the program. Great to have some marketing guidelines as well.
Like lots of the comments already submitted pleased that the MBN App is fully functional for infants up to 12 months and also vegan and vegetarian info is now included in the Infant training as this is becoming a much more common choice for families for their infants.
The promo materials look great !
Pleased to see access to MBN app has been extended to 12 month age group.
It’s good to look at all of this again as it refreshes ideas for marketing. I have recently done a 1:1 in-home session with a vulnerable family and think this could benefit from a separate facilitator guide.
looking forward to the values based messaging resource and so pleased that oral health is being included – its no often missed.
These promo materials look great. Also agree that expanded access to the app is wonderful.
love that you have included vegan and vegetarian into the program.
It is becoming a more common choice for families and important to recognise and normalise this choice for families.
is there any way to print out the Vegan and Vegetarian information. something like this could be very useful for community dietitians and as part of a promo of what there is in the app.
Great feedback, thanks Tracey! The app isn’t set up for printing, but we’ve noted the interest from yourself and others in vegan and vegetarian diets. We’ll look to design a new printable resource on this topic.
we are starting implementation later this year. the promotional flyer is great and I have just sent the comms to our comms team for a heads up . the new Vegan and vegetarian info i am sure will be useful
Love the quick promo add for My Baby Now. This can be used in the New parent group session enabling parents and reminding them about infant and the follow on sessions.
The APP and handouts are great and utilised at our sessions. Would be good to provide content and/or flyers on the information from Infant feeding guidelines to ensure nurses and parents have the most up to date guidelines for feeding/introducing solids
It was great news that the app was made available for all under 12 months and had found it annoying when discussed but families couldn’t download as baby over 6 months of age.
I look fwd to reading more about Vegan and Vegetarian diets as I get many clients who follow these diets and limited info available.
I have only ran INFANT online and have found it to be very effective and find asking frequently any questions works well, some groups get heaps of questions and other groups are not interactive at all but find the same when did F2F groups it really does depend on the people in the group. We have had great feedback on sessions.
My Baby Now App being available to all parents is really useful. Parents who choose not to come to say a 6 month session may be likely to engage with later sessions once they trust the content. Vegan and Vegetarian info really useful
We have not yet implemented the INFANT program, so the flyers are a great idea – saves formatting something ourselves.
The CDIS guidelines are fantastic to have. Easy to follow. The communications essentials kit will be a great resource for promotion. I think the certificate is also a wonderful addition for families that work hard to come to all the sessions.
The new promotional flyer will be a great tool to use to promote our current INFANT sessions in our LGA.
The promotion flyer will definitely come in handy, as we are focusing on implementing INFANT in our LGA at the moment with sessions starting soon.
We have not yet started INFANT program in our LGA and will definitely be trying to incorporate some of the new INFANT promotional resources through our Maternal Health groups and use the videos to promote parents attending these sessions.
The promotional flyer is a great idea as is the vegan and vegetarian information as it will prove invaluable for families following these dietary lifestyles. Also by adding the dental component it emphasises the importance of healthy eating
Looking forward to reading the INFANT Language Guide – positive values-based messaging is a vital component of health promotion!
I have only ever delivered the INFANT program in the online format due to covid-19 restrictions, so the guidelines regarding this are useful.
