The INFANT program was recognized by a CDC-funded review as the strongest global model for community-wide implementation of complementary feeding interventions in early childhood.
The INFANT program was honoured with two Deakin University Faculty of Health awards for its impactful partnerships and evidence-based approach to promoting healthy eating and active play in early childhood.
Created by experts at Deakin University, the My Baby Now app delivers around-the-clock, trustworthy support on breastfeeding, formula feeding, and mixed feeding. Designed to complement maternal and child health advice, it empowers parents with reliable guidance from pregnancy through the early months.
Introducing solids is a key milestone, and choosing the right first cereals can support healthy growth and development—especially when they’re iron-fortified and low in salt and sugar. Options like Weet-Bix and rice cereal, when served with vitamin C-rich fruits, can help meet iron needs while building healthy eating habits from the start.
Play supports infants’ and children’s learning, development, and confidence, with multi-age play offering rich opportunities for social, language, and problem-solving skills. Encouraging safe, inclusive play across age groups fosters leadership, empathy, and growth for all children involved.
Gross motor skill development starts from birth and is essential for infants and children to grow strong, confident, and ready to explore the world through movement and play.
WPHU is partnering with Deakin University to culturally adapt and implement the evidence-based INFANT program, supporting healthier starts for children in culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
